research & interests

I am currently working on the physics of compact groups of galaxies. Particularly, I am studying their space density over redshift and their merger rates and times. Thereby I compare observations with mock observations from cosmological hydrodynamical simulations.  This should also set constraints on the nature of dark matter.

I am also interested in the formation and evolution of galaxies. I am working on an analytical approach of galaxy evolution to study the star formation rate by a continuous infall of extra-galactic gas.

From 2011 to 2013 I was primarily active in the fields of environmental protection. During this time I was a member in the Climate Alliance focusing on reducing the light pollution in my hometown Laakirchen.
